Why we’re not sponsoring iDate anymore

As many people know, the team at WhiteLabelDating.com has been a top sponsor of the industry event iDate for the last few years. During this time we’ve enjoyed meeting people in the industry and attracting new partners to our platform.

Over time though, I personally feel that the event has gone in the wrong direction with a different focus. We’ve also had concerns for a long time about the organisation of the event and lack of good quality speakers who are there because of their own success, rather than because of the amount of money they have to pay.

For those of you that attended the 2009 London event, you’ll know what I mean – and after the London event we decided not to continue our sponsorship, finally withdrawing from sponsorship of iDate in October this year.

I’ll continue to attend the event from time to time so that we can network with our friends in the industry. I believe the industry desperately needs a good quality, professionally run event that fulfils the needs of attendees, rather than sponsors.

I’m told that the 2010 event in Miami will be the best ever and they’ve taken steps to improve things – I’m looking forward to seeing for myself.

In addition, after the success of our 2009 Partner Conference (http://www.whitelabeldating.com/blog/2009/10/the-biggest-event-of-the-year/) we’ve made a commitment to help our existing partners grow their revenue rather than constantly adding new partners as we have done over the last few years.

Our event was the largest gathering of UK-based online dating site operators ever (as well as some international partners from as far afield as Canada and Australia) and was two days of education (plus a great evening of entertainment!).
