Wow – just realised this morning it’s only been 2 years since I came on board full-time to Global Personals Limited.
I took the decision to move from the company I founded, Rawnet Limited, when it became clear what an enormous opportunity there was in the online dating business. I had been working flat out at Rawnet for years and although it had been profitable for all the years under my leadership, the amount of competition in the sector was making it increasingly difficult to maintain growth and momentum in a crowded marketplace.
At the same time, the online dating business was going from strength to strength and enjoying very healthy profit margins – and I had only been spending a few hours a week on the dating business!!
I left Rawnet and started full time in Global Personals Limited in September 2007 by which time we were generating around £3million per year in revenues and had just 12 full time staff.
In just two years we’ve grown the business to the point where it’s now generating revenues in excess of £20millon per year and still growing considerably. We’ve now got 80 staff and are about to move our headquarters to a new 13,000 sq ft office in central Windsor (and very luckily for Windsor, we’ve also got 55 car parking spaces!!)

Gary Player, who is an icon for me in the world of golf, is quoted as saying that “it’s funny how the more I practice the luckier I get”! Well Mr Williams let the world say how lucky you are but some of us know just how hard you practice. Congratulations and well done to you and your great team at Global Personals Limited.
